Founded by engineer and entrepreneur Greg Wilson in Belfast in 2003, Seopa was an early pioneer of online price comparison technology in the UK. Quotezone.co.uk, launched in 2005, has grown into one of the UK’s leading comparison platforms, and CompareNI.com is now Northern Ireland’s number one. Today the same platform compares hundreds of insurance, energy and financial services providers, and powers comparison for hundreds of co-brand partners.

Two decades of comparison
From a Belfast start-up in 2003 to the platform behind Quotezone, CompareNI and hundreds of partner brands. A few of the milestones along the way.
- 2003Seopa is founded in Belfast
Engineer and entrepreneur Greg Wilson starts Seopa, an early pioneer of online price comparison technology in the UK.
- 2005Quotezone.co.uk launches
The first car insurance comparison system goes live under the Quotezone brand.
- 2006UK-first van insurance comparison
Seopa builds and launches the UK’s first van insurance comparison system, followed by home.
- 2009CompareNI.com + one million users
A dedicated Northern Ireland comparison platform launches, and the systems pass one million users.
- 2014Five million users
The comparison systems reach five million users across the UK.
- 2015Energy comparison
A gas and electricity comparison system joins the platform, broadening beyond insurance.
